LAPASSION PROJECT - GYN 2020 - TEAM 4EYES

GD4 PRESENTATION Today Gabriel Novato did a great job making the video for our campaign. We also have more information about the cooperatives and we are feeling motivated about our project. Today we have to deliver our GD4 activity with the proposal and prototype/mock up to the counterpart.

PRESENTATION Yesterday we started organizing our ideas and the structure of our presentation. We also talk about the ways we were going to make our awareness campaign.

VALIDATION OF OUR IDEA (RESEARCH) Mariana said that after the prototype was created, we need to validate our idea with them. We have to do a big incentive campaign to reach the collectors and how these collectors provoke the cooperatives to receive more materials. Would the dairy company be responsible or co-responsible?  Did we even consider whether it would be the role of the dairy industry to disclose about recycling?

DEVELOPMENT OF THE IDEA Today we talked about how are we going to developed the idea We need to create a new campaign to structure our main idea based on cooperative to be so attractive to the others. We need to describe the process: what that cooperative can get benefit from the company? How our process will work and how the user will benefit from the product.

RESEARCH AND VALIDATION Today we started working on changing our personas. We talk about the conclusion of the questionnaire and also about our main idea and how we are going to execute it, we did a lot of research too, we studied the tracking process and we think ways to reward the cooperatives. We also talk about the amount of tetrapack boxes that the company needs to give (22,5%).

THE CONTACT Mariana, one of the tutors, contacted a Tetra Pak consultor. He said they don’t use the plasm technology more, one technology that could split the poly-aluminum into plastic and aluminum. He also explained the recycling process to split the layers of Tetra Pak product, the poly-aluminum goes to the industry to make roofs and the paper becomes paper again. The Tetra Pak consultors did so many critics about the Brazilian Environmental Laws, the prefectures don’t want to do new debts with the recycling. The Tetra Pak company is searching and thinking about new methodologies to apply here in Brazil. We didn’t learn along with our lives how to recycle properly the material because we leave milk inside the box packages. The Industry doesn’t have so many persons interested in collect Tetrapak. THE LIGHT One light at the end of the tunnel inspired us to check the tracking packages system, like blockchain, and how to rewards the cooperatives, people and the institution. We have thought of ideas to train the people with technician courses and about the institution we could make a fuel voucher with the gas company to help them with transportation.

THE TRACKING WAY On Wednesday we had contacted the counterpart to align better our ideas and we talked about how we could track the Tetra Pak and how to use the radio frequency identification (RFID) and QR Codes to track. We have thought about a kind of partnership cashback system using already existing apps. Therefore, we had thought to collect statistical data, like collecting rates, to clarify the ideas and scale our problem better.

THE LEADER MEETING After the counterpart meeting, on Monday, most of the members of the team felt a little discouraged because of the counterpart feedback. Despite that, the leader of the Week, Gabriel Novato, had put some activities to team research along the week and the team had researched a lot how to improve the recycling system, collecting, or what new products can we make? how can we track the packages?. Therefore, at night, we discussed a lot in the team leader meeting with the participation of Marta, one of the tutors, for organizing our ideas better, but we still trying to think of a new tracking system method and we thought too about how we can also use the cooperatives to improve the collecting system of the company, giving to them prizes using a reward system. .

THE FRUSTATING On Monday we had our counterpart meeting and it’s very frustrating for us because we had a little trouble aligning our solution as Ecotoys campaign with the counterpart main idea. The main problem is the public policy because here, in Brazil, we do not have the recycling mindset so much implemented in the people, governors and companies, and the two big problems are about transportation logistics and storage because if you don’t put it in an appropriate place the milk cartons, for example, will stink. Besides that, the counterpart liked our actions to find the best solution for the challenge and give us some tips to do new researches to reach our goal.

THE GD2 ACTIVITY This was the day where we had to deliver our GD2 activity according to LaPassion Schedule. It was time to publish the video and send it to our tutors. During the day we worked on the final details. We had two presentations one in English and the other in Portuguese. During the night we made the subtitles for each video, we uploaded the videos on our blog.

THE STRUGGLE We struggle a bit with the organization of the presentation and we continued doing research about ways to improve the Tetra Pak collection.

THE DETAILS We continue working on the presentation and we have some issues with the design and the order of the slide and also with the amount of information that was in the presentation. We worked in the details of the campaign and how we were going to execute it.

THE VIDEO WORK This day we started working on our video presentation. We needed to organize all the research that we did and to improve the idea that we had. So those days were all about organization and deleting things that weren’t important. We also did more research about our personas.

FEEDBACK During the afternoon we had a meeting with our tutors to share the new idea and the ways we are going to execute it and also we talked about the tips that Ravel told us about. We also talk about other things like how we are feeling about the project? If we had some troubles and we had a feedback about our idea and our progress.

The right path We did a presentation about our idea and the way we are going to execute it. We show this idea to Ravel and he was excited about it. He told us some tips to organize our campaign and he also said to us that we probably needed to change our personas because the target one wasn’t related to the personas that we already had. During the afternoon we changed our personas and everything was on a good path.

  THE MOCKUP IDEA We started doing the mock-up about this idea and we started thinking about how we are going to execute this idea, we did a lot of mental maps to organize everything, we also did the campaign steps. Finally, we have a lot of material to show to Ravel like our mockup design product idea.

NEW IDEAS After we did our brainstorm a new idea came in: Ecotoys, where children can design their own toy (Drawing) and the most creative and crazy ones, are chosen by the company to manufacture them, these children can win a stock of Piracanjuba products and the opportunity to give the name and life to the toy of their dreams. The toy will be sold together with Piracanjuba products (Milk box + The toy) The toy will be sold for limited stock. (The material of the toys it's going to be also from Tetra Pak). In the milk box packaging will come the photo of the child who created the toy, a short review about it and an invitation for children to never stop drawing and creating. Later in the afternoon, we started to develop this idea.

DEFINITION On this day we were worked on defining our idea of ​​creating furniture for schools. We defined the collection method, the details of the campaign: How was this going to be spread? How were we going to achieve the construction of the furniture? and we carried out a questionnaire to understand the context of the recycling culture in Brazil. We also did a new brainstorm to look for other possible solutions to the challenge.

THE LAST DESIGN THINKING CLASS Today we had our last Design Thinking Workshop class, it was about how to formulate mockups for our ideas and present them to the counterpart. Today was also the day to present our GD1 activity video . In this video, we should show our development until now, what we already defined, ways to approach our challenge and our ideas. The video was supposed to be until 5 minutes long, a short presentation video. We’ve chosen just one speaker for the presentation because it was better logistics for us.

GD3 - Activity FEEDBACK REPORT Counterpart meeting  1 - Monday - counterpart meeting On Monday we had our first meeting with the counterpart company aiming to share our initial idea. Gabriel Novato led our presentation to the company and they liked our EcoToys initial idea, saying it is totally feasible in partnership with the company marketing department. However, there are several statutory difficulties when you try to establish a partnership between companies and governmental entities, as public schools. According to the company feedback, our development process is in halfway. For making this possible, first of all, we should think about all the logistic systems (as transport and storage) and the partner companies that are going to recycle this material.
